A dozen personnel fired by a Chandler Pei Wei Restaurant

A dozen employees who were definitely fired by a Chandler Pei Wei restaurant claim it had been due to the controversial new immigration law.

The workforce tell us they were definitely let go immediately after they attended a rally against SB 1070, but the restaurant affirms there may be additional towards story. They apparently skipped out on their scheduled shifts to attend the protest.

Individuals twelve former workers want their jobs back again, and are also asking for back again pay and an apology from Pei Wei. They say other workforce who didn't indicate as much as work ended up punished -- not fired -- and they shouldn't are already treated differently.

They are now having their protest to Pei Wei's front door.

"I thought they ended up planning to support us in one way but they failed to," affirms Elizabeth Serafin, who was fired. She claims she decided not to call in May well 29 simply because other employees had asked for that day time off but were denied.

When workers chose not to indicate up for any scheduled shift and selected to not give notice, it brings about tremendous disruption to fellow coworkers and impedes our power to serve our guests."

Serafin claims she doesn't regret missing function to march for an matter she feels so strongly about.

'"We know [the immigration law] going to influence our families and even our jobs¡­ there's a large amount of men and women coming from an additional state. There's a lot of white individuals performing that, how come we're not doing it for ourselves?"

A local employees union is helping the 12 people who were fired. Protesters say they continue to picket outside of Pei Wei from time to time.
